I've decided not to eat fish anymore

Its something I have always new about, I heard a story about it a few years ago and did some of my own research to solidify my suspicions. But the ocean really is being over fished. I know this seems impossible, but think about how much fish we eat. Nearly all fast food establishments have some sort of “fish”, grocery stores have freezers full of all kinds of fish, most restaurants have at least a few options, if not the entirety of the menu devoted to seafood.

Now I am not one of those crazy activists, nor do I agree with anything PETA would say, but the ocean is the largest ecosystem in the world and removing any part of that system is detrimental. I shouldn’t have to explain this, just think “circle of life”, if any part of that circle goes, the rest suffers. I am also not going to go into the details of how fishers catch fish, its a long process, but think basically as clear cutting a forest, it takes hundreds of years for that to grow back, the same is the same for some species of fish which can live to be over 100 years old.

I am a nature freak among other things, I love all things natural and I love the beach and ocean more than anyplace I have been in the world, so I couldn’t imagine that being negatively affected in anyway that I had help in doing.

I know there is probably many other things I do that hurt the environment, in fact I know there are, but I am trying to slowly “go green”, and I am trying to go green for real and not as this pseudo-fad it has become in the past few years.

Now I don’t eat fish that often as it is, but I eat it enough, and I love it, so it is a loss, but in the end, it helps. I will eat seafood at the more mom and pop type places out by my beaches, that I know they get their products from the local fishers and local water. These small time fishers are not the problem, its the commercial fishers that are doing the damage.

I am not a vegetarian, nor am I the biggest meat eater, I do enjoy my chicken and a cheeseburger here and there, but as of late I have been thinking about how these foods come into being. Being that I do care for animals and the environment, I do realize most of these animals are mistreated in their way to becoming my food, something I use to be able to over look. Now I feel the need to address this in my life and I am trying to eat meat that comes from “organic” and well treated animals. Because I don’t think I can ever feel bad about eating an animal, not because I fully believe God placed them here for us, but humans have always survived off animals, and every other food chain consists of carnivorous tendencies, so it is only natural in a way. You could say humans have evolved past that, but I can argue that in depth, but that is another topic for another post.

And that is my rant of the day

Confusion of Prayer

So I have not really been a "follower" of Christianity for a year now almost. By no means do I denounce a God or a superior celestial Being, but I cannot bring myself to follow or believe in Christianity as it is today. I am not going to go into my full beleifs but I just do not hold any of it true for myself.

Yet I still do pray, not for myself, but for others. I am not saying this to sound like I don't care for myself or be self righteous, I don't pray for myself because I don't think I deserve it? if that makes since, but I will pray to God, assumingly the Christian one for others, who I know believe in Jesus and Christianity. I am not sure what this means for my psyche or whatnot, but I seem to acknolwedge that God is real for them and works in there life, otherwise I would not pray for them, yet not in mine? And I am again not saying I am abandoned, but maybe I feel guilty that I do not believe in the Christian God anymore, or maybe I believe in that God, but feel bad I do not believe in the faith carried out in his name.

This Morning President of the HRC Joe Solmonese wrote to Barack Obama to respond to Obama's administrations response to defend DOMA in the courts.

In reading the letter I was brought to tears. We as a community need to start standing up for ourselves, doing something to help gain equal rights within the eyes of the government. This goes beyond marriage, this is about equal protection against hate and discrimination. If we don't stand up nothing will change.
The wheels of revolution are not turned by idle hands.
So many of those in the LGBT community that I talk to simply think change will come inevitably and there is no reason to get involved, but what we fail to realize is that the only reason things change is because there are those few out there pushing with all their might for equality for the rest of us, but unless we all push the change will be slow or not at all. It is not fair for my generation to reap the benefits of the hard work of the generations before us
who have been fighting for our rights.
It may seem like things are progressing as it is, but our cause stands on the edge of a knife, this year and next many of the states that have passed laws for the equality of our community are re voting on the issues trying to repeal what we have accomplished over the last decade. Maine is trying to have its laws allowing Same-Sex Marriage repealed, if something like this passes it could set up a precedent for the rest of the States that allow same sex-marriage. On top
of this there are other states trying to repeal civil unions and domestic partnership laws.
So now is not the time to sit back and do nothing, we obviously are not going to be able to rely on Obama to help, his prolonged silence is answer enough for how he feels, so we must take it into our hands.
Write a letter to the president professing your frustration to the president. Donate money to organizations like the HRC. I know times are tough, but if you can
spend 5 dollars on a coffe from star bucks or 60 on a polo from Abercrombie you can spare some. Look for local events supporting gay rights.
I am already drafting my letter to Obama and have been a member of the HRC for sometime now. Now it is your turn, find someway to help, there is always something
If we all do just a little, we each send out a small ripple which together can bring down anything in our way.

Were the World Mine

Were the World Mine is a musical movie that was released last year, and though I have yet to see it, I am already in love. A friend of mine, Caleb, from youtube brought the movie to my attention yesterday, I had heard about the movie earlier last year before it was released, but forgot about it until now. The movie is still not on DVD, but can be pre-ordered. Luckily the album is available for only 8.99 on Amazon for MP3 Download (here), I downloaded it earlier today and have enjoyed it once through and I am sure many times more.

It is a coming out story of a young gay boy in high school who comes across a potion recipe (keep in mind this is a muscial) that will turn anyone it touches gay. He uses it on his crush, Timothy, a rugby player at his school. He then goes on to turn the whole town gay. It is an amazing, funny, cute and sad story. Can't wait for the movie! So I am finally back home after my week exodus, and I can finally start getting back into the online world.

Lots will be changing and new regarding my youtube life! I will most likely be getting partnered soon as I approach 2000 subscribers! I cannot believe how blessed I have been to get all these people to follow my videos, and I want t continue to deliver videos at a higher quality. Luckily I was donated Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, so once I figure out how to use this intricate program, but it looks promising. There is so much I can do with it, but it is far harder to use than my old Windows Movie Maker, which is so basic a 2 year old could figure it out.

As for the content of videos to come;

I plan to do a few creative videos using the new editing software, but I still have very basic ideas for that.
I have another drawing video coming up, I just have to narrow down what I am going to draw this time... more naked men anyone?
For my more usual serious videos I have a few ideas as well. From the website eightmaps, which documents the people throughout California who donated and how much they donated to help pass Prop8, I will encourage those who live in California to look at the map and second guess where they do business, if we want to get things changed, we have to show people we are serious and will not take thing sitting down.
Another idea I am working with is explaining the difference between Marriage, Domestic Partnership and Civil Unions.
This was the question I was battling with when I did my "Cure" video, but I also wanted to ask "If you could start your life over would you be straight?" So we'll see if I do this one, it may be to similar.
Using the word "fagget" and "that's so gay" as discriminatory and degrading terms and how you should encourage your friends to not say them.

So these are the ideas in the works, and they are not in any order. I may not do all of them or some may evolve into something else. Let me know which one seem most interesting so I help focus on which to do first.

This will probably give me ideas for the next 2 or 3 months, so I am happy to have stuff planned out so I do not turn into a ghost channel like many others seem to be.

Biggest fear

People always talk about there biggest fears and phobias, but I never really had one to talk about.
I have no real fear of an animal, I enjoy the creepy crawlers, I like all domestic animals, and I respect the wildlife. I don't have any odd fears or irrational things or the paranormal, or things that are harmless, yet some seem to develop a fear of. I have a basically faux-phobia of clowns... but I mean really... they can be creepy...

Over the last year I have finally been developing a fear, my biggest and only real fear. Growing Old. Now I know what you may say, no Scotty, that is a fear of death, but no, that is not the case. I am completely at peace with death, and I have never feared for a moment my the end of my life, even in the close situations when it has nearly been taken. No, death is not a worry. It is become old. Loosing my sight, growing weak, looks beginning to fade, memory becoming hazy, lack of energy. I know there are things you can do to slow these things but eventually they will happen.

And the biggest reason this is my one true fear, is because it is inevitable. You cannot put off getting old. Everyday brings you one step closer. Other fears can be averted and dealt with, but there is no remedy, no cure, no protection from age.

I know I have many youthful years ahead of me, but I know on the horizon comes that inevitable.

I plan to make a complementary video to this soon.

Rewatchable Videos #1 - Dance

A rewatchable video is just like it sounds, a video you will watch again and again. This isn't to say a video that isn't rewatchable is bad, just with most videos, you see them, get the content or the message trying to be portrayed and move on. While other videos capture some sort of interest or entertain you enough to bring you back time and again. For me, most rewatchable videos involve music, or some kind of humor that really gets me going, or grabs an emotion I want to feel again.

For my first video recomendation I present you with dance by Robmuch, which is a musical/dancing video featuring The Presets- "Talk Like That". This is one of the first videos I saw of Robs and favorited before I became friends with him, so there isn't any bias in my choice ;). The video is really well put together and just fun to watch.

I really do think this book and movie could help a lot of people out on so many levels. There is a story in there for everyone dealing with any trouble in the LGBT community.

If you can't read the book, (which is far better I am sure), then watch the movie. It has a great cast, (Sigourney Weaver as Mary Griffith) and the previews look amazing.

It will be coming on at 9PM EST on Saturday January 24th, on Lifetime, check your local listings to make sure.

Drawing use to be something I did every week, sometimes every day. But over the last 2 years at college I have drawn maybe once or twice. After watching Shelter a few days ago I realized how much I missed the arts. I use to draw, paint, write, photoshop, create music, sculpt and now I do nothing creative.

Doing art is not something I do just for fun or for the product at the end. It is the expierence, the moment. My mind goes to a new place when I am in creative mode, it is a great feeling.

So I have decided to pick up my pencil again and take a shot at it. I still have my basic skills, but I have lost a lot of technique over the last 2 years.

I don't understand.... I lost Kristy...it was hard, but I still could see that God was trying to do something, teach me a lesson etc.

My mom's friend from the market died...ok, getting a bit repeditive... a bit much to handle

Then Jennie....I just didn't get it then...3 people in less than 2 months. why would a god who loves us so much, be so harsh...so unconcerned. Have I been that bad that I deserve this...where is the lesson, the revelation, isn't one person enough!

I finish the funeral for Jennie today and come home...then the call....Courtney died.... why...why the fuck would god do that....what is the fucking purpose! Kicking me while I am already down... like shotting a dead body...... I don't get it.

I think I am done with God....either I hate him so much...or I am done....I haven't really started my relationship with him until these last few months....and if death is what a relationship with god intells...then I am done and I want nothing to do with this kind of God

I loved Courtney... she is one of the only people I can honestly say I loved in a romantic way. We would always joke around with each other and our families about how we would get married one day...though a joke....it did cross my mind that I could see myself marrying her someday....if the oppurtunity arose....

If you have read my previous post "Done with life", then continue reading, if you have not, go read it then read this.

I am still very upset...and confused... but I was , in the moment, caught up in things, Things are not as futile as I made them seem. Not to say those thoughts were wrong, I still believe every word I typed in that post. But my feelings are not as extreme at the moment.

I am upset still

I still feel the same towards God, and I have not spoken to him since Saturday, except to question him or to yell at him... I am not sure I want to be part of his faith anymore...if this is being in his good graces or in his "loving arms" then I'd rather be away from him.

Some may say this is Satan's work, and he wants you to feel this way. Well then, he wins, I understood the first death...the second hurt...but the next two...is overkill. They say God will never face you with anything you can't handle...well then why would he allow Satan to do all this... wasn't one enough but no four, a bit more than I can handle.

I hope I have clarified enough..I think I have said enough as well... I don't want any Sunday school answer or explanation, I Know them all and they do not help, at all... I may not go to church...or a while...it just makes me mad to be there... I feel like they are lying... they talk of Gods comforting touch... Iam still waiting...and I still haven't felt anything... I cried out to God, to please...just give me something, a chill, a gust, something, something to comfort me, something to show me you are next to me, waiting for me, loving me...but nothing.... if he is a God of love, then I do not understand love, I have never felt his love, his blessing, nothing....I thought it was my fault...I thought I wasn't open enough, so I have been trying to find him, to be open to him, to feel him...and when I finally felt like I might get to him he pushes me away. Wouldn't he want me to know what I am missing before he allows Satan to attack me.... I think Satan and Lucifer are different people.... they have to be, their stories don't match up.... I Think God Created Satan in the beginning, to tempt us and to corrupt us, an Lucifer is a fallen angel that works against God, and tries to fight against him.

This Saturday, all around the nation, those of the LGBT community and allies are rising up in all major cities to protest the injustices we had inflicted upon us this past week. Check out: http://jointheimpact.wetpaint.com/ , and look for a city near you. It is all going down between 10:30-1:30 depending on your time zone. We need to make ourselves heard! This could be the largest protest for the LGBT community since StoneWall back in the 70's.

This is a critical time, we need to show the country we are not going to take this laying down anymore.
We have to show we care.
We have to show will fight.
No one should be able to decide what rights we have.
The majority cannot make laws for the minority!

So please, if you can, protest this Saturday, tell your friends, the more people the more Impact we will make!

Obama as the AntiChrist?

Ok, let me set some things straight.
No where in the bible does it say anything remotely that Obama may be the antichrist. I have read Revelation and Daniel many times in the past, and there is nothing that leads me to believe that he would be.

Here is the most used verse Daniel 11:21 - "He will be succeeded by a contemptible person who has not been given the honor of royalty. He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize it through intrigue."

Let me say that the people in this nation are not feeling secure right now. We are in the worst financial crisis since the Depression. Not to mention the 2 wars we are facing and the rising danger of Iran, North Korea, and the recent actions of Russia. We are also alone, nearly all of our allies have turned from us in support and most of the world despises us. If this is secure then I would love to know what a crisis is.

Furthermore, if you read the chapter and the book as a whole, it is so far from having anything to do with Obama. If you can seriously read the whole book and relate it to Obama entirely, please let me know.

Jesus says the rapture will come like, "a thief in the night". If this is true then no one would expect Obama to be the Anti-Christ. Seeing as how so many think he is, it would impossible for him to be part of the rapture. So infact believing he is, is un-Christian in itself since you are believing something contrary to Jesus' teachings.

Also, I have heard somethings about verses saying a "dark" man will rise to power. Though I cannot recall these verses, this is exactly how Christians justified centuries of slavery. Using the term dark to represent black people and evil, while using white to represent the Caucasian Europeans.

So please stop with all this nonsense, it makes you look ignorant and not like a good Christian.

Anyways, if Obama is the Anti-Christ,and this is the beginning of the end.... shouldn't you be happy, you have been waiting for 2000 years for it to end, well here it is, stop complaining and get ready to go. Rejoice! Jesus is coming back! The end is here! You have been telling us it is going to come every year, well if you are right in this interpretation then you should know it is all in God's plan. This is God's will. You should have nothing to fear. Nothing to worry about. Nothing to complain about. If you believe what you are preaching, God choose Obama to be President of the United States.

I periodically go through phases of depression and anxiety and I am on the brink of one again... it is coming to the anniversary of a bad time in my life and the holidays which are not good memories for me are coming up again. I am hoping I can keep a high head and stay focused, but as more stuff is piled on I find my feet and legs cannot take the pressure.
Will I make it? Will I fall? Will I have to crawl?
Only the future can tell, the future of which none can tell. I should not worry about something I cannot control, but that won't stop me. I feel like I can take on anything.

New Blog Idea- Unifying the LGBT community

I feel like we are not connected. We are not standing together but infact fighting amongst ourselves. No one believes bisexuals are really bisexual. Many do not care for transexuals and transgendered. The younger and older gays dont get along. There seems to be a rift between the Gay and lesbians.

So I plan to devout a few of my next videos to these issues. Hoping to point out the inhereit flaws in our community.
